Hi there ACY yogis! Here is a live Zoom recording of a restorative yoga class I did this week. Grab two bolsters and a blanket, or 2-3 pillows and blanket and get ready to chill, restore, and revive. This week we are navigating through Avidya or misperception, wrong-seeing, ignorance. Avidya is one of the 5 Kleshas which are the roots of human suffering. By acknowledging them, we can start to heal.
This Klesha is rampant right now. We see/ read ignorance everywhere and, in turn, it clouds our vision and deteriorates our compassion for others.
Our true nature is the part that is always loving and peaceful. It is our “good seed.” Life sometimes has a way of blocking this, and we risk burying our good seed, making it harder and harder to find.
When we move and breathe and meditate we allow ourselves to heal and to see clearly once again. Yoga is the perfect way to acknowledge our Avidya and move into Vidya (knowledge, clarity). (Rountree & Desiato, 2019)
